ANTHC has three Leadership Development Programs which align with the Strategic Plan to provide a framework of expectations, guidance, and opportunity to develop and refine knowledge, experience, and skills of current trends in leadership development. The Strategic Drivers guide the organization toward the vision that Alaska Natives are the healthiest people in the world, and at the heart of the leadership development program is the mission, values and organizational culture that is ANTHC.

ANTHC’s leadership development programs are designed to increase the numbers of Alaska Natives and Native Americans in management and professional positions.

General Program Information

To provide their first networking opportunity as program participant, all attend a Program Kickoff in September and are introduced to the ANTHC leadership. As a capstone to their year, participants attend and introduce themselves to ANTHC leadership, their family, and friends at the Leadership Development Programs Graduation in May. During the program year, all participants receive valuable advice, knowledge, and expand their networks by meeting with a mentor(s). Individuals that complete all three programs can earn up to 17 credits from Alaska Pacific University. 

Program Eligibility

Applicants for these programs believe in life-long learning and are self-directed, self-aware, engaged, and willing to learn about effectively​ leading people and change. Candidates also understand the importance of focusing on outcomes, improving business acumen, and building partnerships that foster collaboration and teamwork. Candidates should have a strong desire to complete all core trainings and modules.
