Employee Book Club
The ANTHC book club is open to ALL ANTHC and THO employees. Anyone can participate and it is not a requirement that you have read or finished the book, unless you are seeking CE or CME credits or are in one of the other leadership programs. Held monthly, September to May, from 1:00 pm to 2:00pm, book club discussions coincide with ANTHCs leadership development programs, LEAD and Pathways, programs year. ANTHC does not supply the books, we try to choose some books that are available online for free through Libby and Hoopla for Anchorage Library members. The book club is a great way to network and gain a deeper and better understanding of leadership skills, diverse perspectives, and Alaska Native and Native American cultures.
Each month has a specific leadership theme:
- September: Embracing Cultural Identity in Leadership
- October: Integrating Wellness & Leadership
- November: Stories as Leadership Lessons
- December: Movie
- January: Leadership and Environmental Stewardship
- February: Addressing Racism and Leadership
- March: Women in Leadership
- April: Overcoming Adversity Through Leadership
- May: Visionary Leadership for Future Generations
2024 – 2025 Employee Book Club Book Selections

How to prepare for joining the Book Club discussion
Pathways and LEAD participants facilitate the discussions to practice a new type of public speaking. Bring your questions and comments about the book. These discussions are not academic discussions and topics often include leadership, ANTHC, Alaska Natives, and Native Americans.
Join early for networking from 12:30pm-1:00pm.
